Monday Night Reading – Philip Yancey’s The Question That Never Goes Away: Why?
May 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Monday, repeating until June 14, 2021
These past 14 months have been very difficult days, for some the pandemic has probably raised the question why.
Philip Yancey in his book, The Question That Never Goes Away: Why? retells his experience speaking to people in Japan following the tsunami, Newton Connecticut after the school shooting and residents of Sarajevo after the civil war.
I find Yancey to be brave in addressing the painful issues, pastoral in caring deeply for those in sorrow, and helpful in reflecting Biblically and upon the source of our strength and hope; God’s love in Christ.
Three members of the parish have agreed to read the text for the first part of the session. Then there will be time for comments, sharing and prayer if you wish to join live on Zoom from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. The reading will also be recorded so you may listen to it at a time that works for you.
I think it will take us 6 or 7 weeks to finish the book.
